Q&A WITH SARA

Where do you LIVE?
My husband, two little ones and pup Tula live in the Berkeley neighborhood of the Highlands in a 1920’s brick bungalow. I love being so close to parks, libraries and three main street areas with some of the hottest locally-owned restaurants and shops in the city. Downtown and LoHi are within walking distance and I-70 is close by for easy access to the mountains. But the best thing about our neighborhood is the people! It's so nice to run into neighbors daily and have a friendly small town vibe in a major metropolitan city.

Why Real Estate... Aren't There Enough Agents On The Planet Already?
After working in a corporate office for 10+ years, I realized I wanted to be in a challenging profession where I could also be out in the community, working with different types of people. I love being able to explore and talk about Denver’s great neighborhoods & discover unexpected pockets of the city. One of my primary goals is to help first-time buyers realize the American dream of home ownership, while also educating them about creating wealth through real estate. The flexible hours and independence of this industry are bonuses that allow me to spend time with my family and living a life I love.

What Music Is Currently On Your Playlist?
I’m a little all over the place when it comes to music. I love everything from Lady Gaga and Rihanna for high-energy workout music to Paul Simon and Norah Jones for chilling out. In the car I always find myself going to back to classic rock on KBCO or getting up-to-date on world events through NPR. I’m an old-fashioned radio geek!

What Cause Gets Your Time And Money?
When I'm not busy working or with my kids, I like to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, which builds and helps deserving families build and own their own homes. Seeing the joy on the faces of the families moving in and hearing their stories has made me realize how many families in our city are in need of a safe place to call home. I am also a huge animal lover, so a portion of my income gets donated to MaxFund or another great local pet organization to help keep dogs and cats out of kill shelters and homes where they are treated badly.

Give It Up. What Local Restaurant Is Your Best Kept Secret?
Since having children, unfortunately I feel I'm not able to keep up with Denver's growing foodie craze, but brunch has always been a favorite of mine! Kyle's Kitchen on Tennyson Street is my family's go-to diner on Sunday mornings. I love Café Brazil for a nice date night out and Sweet Cow is the best indulgence for REAL old-fashioned ice cream.
